Qualifications and experience

I am a native New Yorker educated in the United States.

I hold a Cambridge University CELTA Diploma for teaching English as a foreign language. 

I have a master’s degree and a doctoral degree in Theatre.  My education in theatre and my experience as a professional actor enriches my English teaching.

I have been teaching English as a foreign languages to children, teenagers, and adults since 1998.  I have taught….

…conversation at primary and secondary schools in the Czech Republic,

…pronunciation and test preparation courses at language schools in New York City and Prague,

 …grammar and conversation courses at banks and law firms in Prague and Helsinki,

…private clients at their homes focusing on their individual language-learning needs and goals.

Study English with Me

I offer tutoring for teenagers (ages 13 and up) and adults in the Helsinki metropolitan area.

Lessons are tailored to your individual language-learning needs and goals.

I specialize in conversation, pronunciation, and building confidence and fluency in speaking and listening. A prepared, confident English speaker is my goal!

If you’re also interested in grammar, improving your reading and writing, or test prep, I’m more than happy to work with you on that too.  All language skills enrich one another!
